Paget, Violet, Vernon Lee, scrittrice, (Boulogne 1856 - Firenze 1935)
Vernon Lee (pseudonimo di Violet Paget, 1856-1935) visse a Firenze per molti anni. Fu autrice di saggi, scritti di critica letteraria, appunti di viaggio, romanzi e storie di fantasmi e, tra i suoi libri si annoverano: "Studies of the Eighteenth Century in Italy" (1880), "The Countess of Albany" (1884), "Miss Brown" (1884), "Hauntings. Fantastic Stories" (1890), "Limbo" (1897), "Genius Loci" (1899), Hortus Vitae (1904), The Enchanted Woods (1905), The Spirit of Rome (1906), Laurus "Nobilis" (1909), "Louis Norbert" (1914), "The Tower of the Mirrors and Other Essays on the Spirit of Places" (1914)," The Handling of Words" (1906) and "The Golden Keys" (1925).
